KHARTOUM -- The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Sunday said the number of people fleeing the war in Sudan has surpassed 7.4 million.

"More than 7.4 million people have been displaced inside and outside Sudan since the fighting broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on April 15, 2023," OCHA said in its latest update on Sunday. (Sudan-OCHA-Displacement)

SANAA -- The United States and Britain conducted a new strike on Yemen's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Sunday evening, the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.

The strike targeted the Jad'a mountain in the Alluheyah district in the northern part of the city, the report said, adding the warplanes were still hovering over the area. (Yemen-US Strikes-Red Sea Port)

JERUSALEM -- The bloody Israel-Hamas conflict entered its 100th day on Sunday, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledging to continue the military campaign in the Gaza Strip until "total victory" is achieved.

"We must conduct this war, and it will yet take many months," said Netanyahu despite growing international calls to halt the war due to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. (Israel-Hamas-Gaza Conflict)

DAMASCUS -- Several electricity substations in the rural areas of the northeastern Syrian province of al-Hasakah were knocked offline Sunday evening following drone attacks by Turkish forces.

The director-general of the electricity company in al-Hasakah, Saleh Idris, revealed in a statement carried by the state news agency SANA that key power conversion stations, namely Amuda (66 kV), Qamishli (66 kV), and Qahhataniyah, were deliberately disabled by Turkish drones.
