DAMASCUS -- Five officers of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in an Israeli missile attack on a residential neighborhood in the capital Damascus on Saturday, an Iranian media source told Xinhua.

An eyewitness living in the area told Xinhua he heard four to six missiles passing through the sky in quick succession. (Syria-Israel-Attack)

NEW DELHI -- Indian security personnel gunned down at least three armed rebels (popularly called "Naxals"), including two women, in the central state of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, local police confirmed.

KIGALI -- One student was killed and another injured Saturday in a fire that gutted a dormitory at a technical school in northern Rwanda's Gakenke district, a local official said.

BAGHDAD -- The UN Assistance Mission for Iraq warned Saturday that Iraq is at risk of being drawn further into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that threatens the security and stability of the region.
