YANGON, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar police have seized 2,000 kg of Methamphetamine (ICE) in Shan state, according to state-run media Myanmar Digital News on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, the anti-narcotic police searched a 12-wheeler truck in Nawnghkio Township on Jan. 17 and confiscated 2,000 kg of ICE which was worth 30 billion kyats (about 14.28 million U.S. dollars).

According to the investigation, the seized drugs were transported from Shan State to Ayeyarwady Region. From there, the drugs would be trafficked overseas.

All the suspects who were involved in the case have been charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigation was underway, the report said. Enditem
