SINGAPORE, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The total tonnage of ships registered in Singapore surpassed 100 million gross tonnage following the registration of crude carrier Eagle Veracruz, said the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Tuesday.

Eagle Veracruz is a dual-fuel liquefied natural gas Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) with energy-efficient designs and technology.

It also allows future retrofit options to run on low and zero-carbon fuels, according to a statement issued by the agency.

The VLCC exceeds 330 meters in length with a volume of more than 156,000 gross tonnage.

Established in 1966, the Singapore Registry of Ships administers about 4,000 vessels. Enditem
