KATHMANDU, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Nepali government on Tuesday tightened rules on travel to Gulf countries with a view to barring Nepalis from fighting on foreign lands.

The Department of Immigration issued a new travel advisory, asking those going to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia on tourist visas to fill in self-declaration forms and state that their purpose of visits is just for tourism and there is no outside influence on their visits.

"Those willing to visit these countries should also self-declare that they would not engage in activities other than tourism," the travel advisory stated. "They should also self-declare that they are aware about the government's travel advisory and commit that they would be fully responsible for what they do." Enditem
