ULAN BATOR, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and more than 10 others injured after a tanker carrying 60 tons of gas exploded in Mongolia's capital early Wednesday, the country's National Emergency Management Agency said.
The accident occurred on a road in the southeastern district of Bayanzurkh in the capital at around 1:07 a.m. local time (1707 GMT Tuesday).
In addition, around 30 vehicles were burned, and several nearby buildings partially collapsed due to the explosion, the emergency agency said in a statement.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, it said.
Earlier media reports claimed six people were killed in the explosion. Enditem
