BANGKOK -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara here on Sunday for the annual consultation.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China and Thailand are one family. As next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, both countries face new opportunities and should take new actions in their respective modernization developments and in building a China-Thailand community with a shared future. SEOUL -- A small fishing boat sank off South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju, leaving two of the three crew members missing, Yonhap news agency said Sunday citing the coast guard.

The Jeju maritime traffic control center received a call at around 9:52 p.m. local time Saturday (1252 GMT) that the 4.11-ton fishing boat was being inundated in waters some 18.5 km south of the island. (South Korea-Fishing Boat Sinking-Missing)

NEW DELHI -- One woman was killed and 17 people injured early Sunday after a stage erected for devotees collapsed abruptly in Indian capital territory Delhi, police said.

"Early today we received a distress call about the collapsing of a stage at Kalkaji temple. Rescue teams were immediately rushed to the spot," a police official said. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals and their condition is stable. (India-Temple-Incident)

KABUL -- At least 17 people were confirmed dead and 10 others injured due to a series of traffic accidents on the eastern edge of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on Sunday, Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said.

The accidents, according to Zadran, happened on the highway linking Kabul's Surobi District to Jalalabad, the provincial capital of the eastern Nangarhar province. (Afghanistan-Road Accidents) Enditem
