HANOI, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam posted a budget collection of nearly 231 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 9.4 billion U.S. dollars) in January, down 2.8 percent year-on-year, according to the latest statistics of the country's General Statistics Office.
Domestic revenue this month reached 206.1 trillion dong (8.4 billion dollars), down 4.2 percent year-on-year while the revenue from import-export activities hit 19.9 trillion dong (815.5 million dollars), up 16.9 percent year-on-year.
Vietnam's budget spending stood at 128.9 trillion Vietnamese dong (5.3 billion dollars) in January, down 0.2 percent year-on-year. Regular spending stood at 93 trillion dong (3.8 billion dollars), accounting for the largest proportion of the country's total expenditure.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the state budget deficit for 2023 was estimated at 4 percent of the gross domestic product.
Vietnam aims to have a state budget collection of 1,700.99 trillion dong (69.8 billion dollars) in 2024, according to a resolution on the state budget passed by the National Assembly in 2023. Enditem
