KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's stock exchange Bursa Malaysia has reported higher profit in the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2023, underpinned by higher revenue.
Bursa Malaysia said in a bourse filing that its net profit for the fourth quarter rose 21.53 percent year on year to 59.55 million ringgit (12.59 million U.S. dollars).
Its revenue for the quarter also grew 7.54 percent year on year to 156.68 million ringgit.
As for the full year, the group's net profit increased by 11.39 percent year on year to 252.38 million ringgit, while its revenue climbed 2.19 percent year on year to 616.49 million ringgit.
In the fiscal year 2023, the exchange successfully raised 3.6 billion ringgit from new listings compared to 3.5 billion ringgit for fiscal 2022, bringing Malaysia's initial public offering market capitalization to 13.6 billion ringgit, surpassing last year's total of 11.2 billion ringgit.
