MEXICO CITY, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Argentine winger Leo Suarez has joined Pumas UNAM from Mexico City rivals America, the Liga MX clubs announced on Thursday.
The 27-year-old signed a one-year contract after Pumas agreed to a transfer fee reportedly worth five million euros.
"With a deft left foot and versatility in attack ... Leo Suarez brings quality to the blue and gold," Pumas said on their official website.
Suarez made 87 appearances across all competition for America, scoring 12 goals and providing 12 assists.
The reigning Liga MX champions paid tribute to the forward in a brief statement on social media.
"Thank you, Leo, for your great dedication while wearing our colors. We wish you much success in your future endeavors."
Suarez, who represented Argentina at youth level, has also played for Santos Laguna, Boca Juniors, Villarreal, Mallorca and Real Valladolid since making his professional debut in 2014. Enditem
