ULAN BATOR, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Mongol Post, Mongolia's national postal service, has issued a special postage stamp to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, a traditional festival known as the "White Moon" in the country, and to welcome the Year of the Dragon, local media reported on Thursday.

The stamp displays a pair of silver dragons discovered by Mongolian and Chinese archeologists in the central-west Mongolian province of Arkhangai.

In addition, the words "Year of the Dragon" and "Mongolia" were inscribed on the stamp in English.

The Mongolian zodiac cycle, like the Chinese one, contains 12 animals.

The White Moon, one of the most celebrated holidays in Mongolia, symbolizes the start of spring and the end of winter. Enditem
