KINSHASA, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- At least 18 people were killed Thursday in a traffic accident in Kimbanseke, a peripheral commune located in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), said a local official.

According to Jeannot Canon, the mayor of Kimbanseke, a dump truck coming from N'djili airport hit a mini-bus which was trying to enter the main boulevard of Lumumba towards the city center.

The bodies of the victims were taken to the morgue of a hospital located in the surrounding commune of Limete, according to local authorities.

The city province of Kinshasa regularly reports traffic accidents due to poor behavior of drivers and poor condition of vehicles. Enditem
