KINSHASA -- At least 18 people were killed Thursday in a traffic accident in Kimbanseke, a peripheral commune located in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), said a local official.

According to Jeannot Canon, the mayor of Kimbanseke, a dump truck coming from N'djili airport hit a mini-bus which was trying to enter the main boulevard of Lumumba towards the city center. (DRC-Accident)

KIEV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday he had appointed Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky as the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, replacing Valery Zaluzhny.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday began to hear former President Donald Trump's eligibility case, with the decision poised to set guidelines nationwide.

TUNIS -- The Tunisian maritime guard recovered 13 bodies of Sudanese migrants after their Italy-bound boat sank off the eastern Mahdia Province, the private radio station Mosaique FM reported Thursday.

According to the radio station, initial investigation shows that the boat left the coast of Jebiniana town in the southeastern Sfax province with 42 Sudanese on board. (Tunisia-Sudan-Migrants) Enditem
