BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Ignacio Ramirez netted a hat-trick as Newell's Old Boys kept intact their perfect start to Argentina's Primera Division season on Friday with a 3-1 away win over Union Santa Fe.
Ramirez struck twice in the first half, including a wicked 20-yard drive that left goalkeeper Nicolas Campisi with no chance, before slotting home his third goal just before the hour.
Mateo del Blanco reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute with a cool finish into the far corner from 12 yards.
Group B leaders Newell's now has four wins from as many matches and holds a two-point advantage over second-placed Estudiantes. Union is seventh in the 14-team group, eight points behind Newell's.
In other fixtures on Friday, Estudiantes won 2-0 at home to Tigre, Racing Club romped to a 4-1 home win over San Lorenzo, and Velez Sarsfield prevailed 3-1 at home to Gimnasia. Enditem
