HANOI, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's export earnings in January posted a year-on-year rise of 42 percent to about 33.6 billion U.S. dollars, the highest monthly turnover since April 2022 when the figure stood at 33.26 billion dollars, Vietnam News Agency reported Thursday, citing the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The strong export growth was driven mainly by the agro-forestry-fishery sector and the processing industry, which saw respective increases of nearly 97 percent and 38 percent in overseas shipments.
China remained the largest exporter of goods to Vietnam, with an approximated value of 11 billion dollars in January, soaring 50 percent year-on-year.
In 2023, Vietnam's export revenue stood at 355.5 billion dollars, down 4.4 percent year-on-year, according to the country's General Statistics Office. Enditem
