MEXICO CITY, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Luis Amarilla struck two late goals as Mazatlan salvaged a dramatic 2-2 home draw with Guadalajara in Mexico's Liga MX on Friday.
Victor Guzman gave Guadalajara the lead by converting an early penalty after Sergio Flores brought down Mateo Chavez with a rash challenge.
The Mexico international midfielder doubled his side's advantage just before the hour with a low 15-yard drive into the far corner after Ricardo Marin danced through the hosts' defense.
Amarilla reduced the deficit three minutes from time as he rifled a first-time effort into the top-left corner after Raul Rangel's bungled clearance attempt.
The momentum shifted further Mazatlan's way when Yael Padilla was shown a straight red card for a rash challenge on Alan Medina in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
The hosts drew level a minute later as Guadalajara failed to deal with a floating free-kick from distance and Amarilla was again on hand to volley into the far corner.
Guadalajara are now sixth in the 18-team standings with 12 points from seven outings, two points behind leaders Monterrey. Mazatlan are 12th, seven points further back.
In Friday's only other Liga MX fixture, Necaxa drew 1-1 at Queretaro. Enditem
