COLOMBO -- The Sri Lankan government has launched a three-pronged concessional debt restructuring package to repay 36 billion U.S. dollars of foreign debt, state media reported on Saturday quoting a minister.

Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Bandula Gunawardena said the package will be implemented in three phases: 5-6 years, 6-20 years, and beyond 20 years. (Sri Lanka-Foreign Debt)

NEW DELHI -- The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Saturday launched new weather satellite INSAT-3DS into orbit, officials said.

The meteorological satellite, aboard a Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F14) rocket, took off from Sriharikota in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh at 5:35 p.m. local time. (India-Weather Satellite)

SINGAPORE -- Chinese passenger jet C919 arrived at Changi Airport Saturday after a non-stop flight of nearly six hours to attend Singapore Airshow 2024, according to China Eastern Airlines Singapore Branch.

The jetliner will perform flight demonstrations at the airshow, which will last from Feb. 20 to Feb. 25, said the airshow organizer. (Singapore-China-Jetliner)

TOKYO -- Japan launched its flagship H3 rocket on Saturday nearly a year after the maiden launch failure, according to the country's space agency.

At about 9:22 a.m. local time, the vehicle, H3 rocket test flight No.2, was launched from the Tanegashima Space Center on Tanegashima Island in the southwestern prefecture of Kagoshima, the live feed of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) showed.
