Singapore records fewer physical crimes in 2023

SINGAPORE, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Singapore police recorded 19,966 physical crime cases last year, a 1.1 percent decrease from 2022, according to statistics released by the police Monday.

The crimes of concern included shop theft, theft in dwelling, outrage of modesty, and voyeurism.

Shop theft increased to 3,939 cases in 2023 from 3,244 cases in 2022, topping the list of all reported physical crimes, the police noted.

Throughout 2023, the police recorded 1,695 dwelling theft cases, 1,528 outrage of modesty cases, and 476 voyeurism cases, according to the data. Enditem
