SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group launched a new missile attack at a U.S.-owned ship off the coast of Aden on Monday, a Yemeni coastguard source and a maritime agency said, amid the latest escalation of the conflict in the Red Sea.

The coastguard source told Xinhua that the U.S. ship was hit by a missile launched from Houthi-controlled areas in northern Yemen, while the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency said it received a report of another attack on a ship 100 nautical miles east of Aden, the southern port city of Yemen that sits near the mouth of the Red Sea. KABUL -- At least 25 people were killed and 10 others injured as a landslide struck a village in the Norgaram district of east Afghanistan's Nuristan province on Sunday, district Governor Qari Habibullah Sabir said Monday.

The disaster took place in the wake of heavy rain and snow in Tatin Dara area of Norgaram district late Sunday night, the official said, adding women and children are among the victims. (Afghanistan-Landslide-Death Toll)

MOSCOW -- Russia plans to carry out over 40 space launches in 2024, said Yury Borisov, director general of Russia's state space corporation Roscosmos, in an interview with local media on Monday.

Borisov said it is important to avoid any potential launch delays and Roscosmos will continue to focus on facilitating effective and steady coordination within the corporation. (Russia-Space-Plan)

KAMPALA -- More than 15,000 refugees have crossed into Uganda from neighboring countries since January, and the number is expected to increase throughout the year, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Frank Walusimbi, UNHCR Uganda spokesperson, told Xinhua by telephone on Monday that most of the refugees came from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Sudan and South Sudan. (Uganda-Refugee-UNHCR) Enditem
