YANGON, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's authorities have seized 1.5 million stimulant tablets worth 3 billion kyats (about 1.42 million U.S. dollars) in southern Myanmar, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) late Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police searched a vehicle in Kyaikhto township of Mon state on Feb. 15, and seized the drugs along with three suspects.

The next morning, another suspect who ordered them to carry the drugs was arrested in Daik-U township of Bago region.

An investigation revealed that the seized tablets were planned to be transported from Shan state to Daik-U township and then to Kayin state.

The suspects who were involved in the case were charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations were underway. Enditem
