BEIRUT, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- One Hezbollah fighter and two members of the Islamic Health Authority affiliated with the Lebanese armed group were killed, while three others were wounded on Friday in an Israeli raid on the southeastern Lebanese village of Blida, Lebanese military and medical sources said.

Medical sources said the bodies of the three victims and the three wounded people have been transferred to the Tebnin Governmental Hospital.

Military sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Xinhua that the casualties resulted from Israeli airstrikes on a center of the Islamic Health Authority in the village of Blida at dawn. Ambulances and civil defense teams were sent to the scene to rescue survivors.

Meanwhile, the military sources added that Israel carried out eight airstrikes on four towns and villages and fired about 70 shells on 15 towns and villages in southern Lebanon.

For its part, Hezbollah said its fighters attacked several Israeli sites, including the Keila and Yoav Barracks.

The Lebanon-Israel border has been witnessing increased tension since Oct. 8, 2023, after Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel in support of the Hamas attack on Israel the previous day, prompting Israel to respond by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon.

The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel have killed 310 people on the Lebanese side, including 208 Hezbollah members and 59 civilians, according to Lebanese security sources. Enditem
