RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Argentine fourth seed Francisco Cerundolo advanced to the semifinals of the Rio Open on Friday by recovering from a set down to defeat Serbia's Dusan Lajovic.
Cerundolo won 69% of points on his second serve and converted two of three break points to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in two hours and 23 minutes on the outdoor clay of the Jockey Club Brasileiro.
The 25-year-old world No. 22 will meet countryman Sebastian Baez for a place in the final after the latter beat Brazilian Thiago Monteiro 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 earlier in the day.
Fifth seed Baez converted four of six break points to prevail in two hours and 13 minutes.
Defending champions Cameron Norrie and Argentine Mariano Navone will meet in the other semifinal after winning their respective matches on Friday.
Norrie overcame Brazilian Thiago Wild 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 and Navone defeated Brazil's Joao Fonseca 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. Enditem
