TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has unveiled a plan to allocate additional funds of around 100 billion yen (about 665 million U.S. dollars) to accelerate reconstruction in the quake-hit Noto region in central Japan.

The government will decide the additional spending to finance the expansion of the subsidy program as early as next week, based on this fiscal year's reserve fund, Kishida told reporters during his visit on Saturday to areas devastated by the Noto Peninsula earthquake on New Year's Day. CARACAS -- Venezuela and Türkiye are committed to advancing towards a trade exchange of 3 billion U.S. dollars, the two countries' foreign ministers said here on Saturday.

LUSAKA -- The Zambian government said Friday that it plans to realign the 2024 national budget following a prolonged dry spell.

Minister of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane said that given the prolonged drought, the government will have no option but to propose adjustments to the budget so that a financing room was created to enable the financing of vulnerable families to be affected by the drought.
