FUNAFUTI, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tuvalu has officially formed a new government following its general elections held a month ago.
The oath-taking ceremony for the new government took place on Wednesday in Funafuti, with Feleti Teo sworn in as the prime minister, according to Tuvalu TV.
Panapasi Nelesone, a former senior government official, was named as the deputy prime minister and minister of finance and economic development.
Paulson Panapa is the minister of foreign affairs, labor and trade, while former Foreign Minister Simon Kofe is now the minister of transport, energy, communication and innovation.
Iakoba Taeia Italeli was elected as speaker of the parliament on Tuesday via an uncontested ballot, as only one candidate was nominated for the position. Enditem
