GAZA -- The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 30,320, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said in a press statement on Saturday.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 92 Palestinians and wounded 156 others, bringing the total death toll to 30,320 and injuries to 71,533 since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out on Oct. 7, 2023, according to the statement. (Gaza-Death Toll-Israeli Strikes)

BEIRUT -- Three Hezbollah fighters were killed and one member of the civil defense injured on Saturday in an Israeli strike on a civilian car in southern Lebanon, Lebanese medical sources told Xinhua.

The sources, who spoke anonymously, said that an Israeli drone fired two air-to-surface missiles at a civilian car that was driving on the international sea route in the Naqoura area, adjacent to the city of Tyre. (Lebanon-Israel-Casualties)

TEHRAN -- Five people were killed and 91 others injured in Iran during Feb. 20-March 1 in incidents caused by the explosion of fireworks ahead of the upcoming Fire Festival in the country, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported on Saturday.

The number of deaths has doubled compared to last year, while injuries have increased by 57 percent, the ISNA quoted Jafar Miadfar, head of Iran's Medical Emergency Organization, as saying. (Iran-Fireworks Blasts-Casualties)

CAIRO -- Cairo would host talks to reach a truce in the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Egypt's Al-Qahera News TV reported Saturday.

The report, citing an Egyptian official who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Egypt has extended continuous efforts to broker "a truce agreement" before the holy month of Ramadan, which is expected to start on March 11 in Egypt. (Egypt-Gaza Truce Talks-Resumption) Enditem
