BUENOS AIRES, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Juan Portilla scored a late equalizer as Talleres Cordoba earned a 2-2 home draw with River Plate in Argentina's Primera Division on Saturday.

The visitors went ahead in the second minute when Pablo Solari sent a powerful 20-yard drive into the top-right corner after Sebastian Boselli's assist.

Colombian striker Miguel Borja equalized with a close-range header just before halftime as the visitors looked set for their fourth win of the campaign.

But the hosts had other ideas and Ramon Sosa reduced the deficit by heading home following Ruben Botta's cross.

Portilla put his side on level terms 14 minutes from time as he combined with Miguel Navarro before lashing home a low finish from outside the box.

The result leaves River third in Group A with 14 points from eight games, two points behind leaders Independiente. Talleres are sixth in the 14-team group, two points further back.

In other Argentine Primera Division fixtures on Saturday, Union Santa Fe won 2-1 at Sarmiento, Atletico Tucuman were held to a 0-0 home draw by Velez Sarsfield and Independiente won 2-1 at home to Argentinos Juniors. Enditem
