RABAT, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed and 18 others injured on Sunday evening in a traffic accident in Morocco's northwestern Berrechid Province, online news website Hespress reported.
According to the report, an agricultural vehicle carrying a family of 24 people, who were returning from a wedding party, overturned at a roundabout on the regional road that links the provincial municipality Berrechid, located in the south of Casablanca, to the town of Laghnimyine.
Two individuals died at the scene, with one girl dying on her way to the hospital, while three others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, said the report.
The cause of the deadly accident is under investigation by the Royal Gendarmerie.
Deadly traffic accidents happen on occasion in Morocco. According to official statistics, they were mainly due to the inattention of drivers or pedestrians, as well as the failure to keep a safe distance and speeding. Enditem
