TOKYO -- A doctor in Japan was sentenced on Tuesday to 18 years in prison for the consensual killing of a woman with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in 2019 in Kyoto, western Japan.

Hiroshi Kawakami, presiding judge at Kyoto District Court, rejected 45-year-old Yoshikazu Okubo's plea of not guilty. Prosecutors had sought a prison term of 23 years. (Japan-Court)

BANGKOK -- Thailand's headline inflation fell for the fifth straight month in February due to government energy subsidies and lower fresh food prices from increased market supply, official data showed on Tuesday.

PHNOM PENH -- At least two people were injured in a bus explosion at a parking lot in front of the famed Angkor Wat temple in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province on Tuesday, a police chief said.
