RIO DE JANEIRO, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Newly promoted Brazilian Serie A outfit Vitoria have signed midfielder Jean Mota from Inter Miami, both clubs said on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old, who had been contracted to the Major League Soccer club until December, agreed to a deal that runs until the end of 2026.

"We would like to thank Jean for his dedication and contributions and wish him the best in this next step of his career as he returns to Brazil," Inter Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said in a statement.

"This move gives us flexibility as we continue to build our team to compete for titles this season."

Mota made 53 first-team appearances for Inter Miami, scoring three goals and providing seven assists, following his January 2022 move from Santos.

Vitoria, based in the northeastern Brazilian city of Salvador, earned promotion to the country's top flight by winning the Serie B last year. Enditem
