TOKYO -- An advisory panel of Japan's culture ministry on Wednesday approved the classification of the Unification Church as a designated religious corporation subject to stricter monitoring of its assets.

KUALA LUMPUR -- Road fatalities amounted to 6,443 over the course of 2023, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said on Wednesday.

Nearly two-thirds of these fatalities involved motorcycles (4,448 deaths), Loke said, adding that data on these fatalities would be released daily to raise awareness, he told reporters in a briefing at the country's parliament. (Malaysia-Road Fatalities)

PHNOM PENH -- Chinese state-owned aircraft manufacturer Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) on Wednesday carried out a static display of its C919 aircraft and a demonstration flight of its ARJ21 jetliner in Cambodia.

YANGON -- Six people were killed on the spot as a car overturned in Myanmar's eastern Shan State, an official from Shan State traffic police force told Xinhua on Wednesday.
