JERUSALEM, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The number of tourists arriving in Israel increased to 67,500 in February, according to data released by the country's Central Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday.

The conflict with Hamas, which began on Oct. 7 last year, resulted in a decrease in tourist arrivals to Israel. The numbers dropped from 304,100 in September to 89,700 in October and declined to 38,300 in November.

A reversal in this trend has been noted since December last year, with 52,800 tourists recorded, according to data from the bureau.

Despite the increase, the current figures remain notably lower than the 307,000 tourists recorded last February.

The recent rise aligns with the resumption of foreign airlines operating flights to Israel, reinstating services suspended during the onset of hostilities.

Airlines like Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss, Air France, Aegean Airlines, United Airlines, and Wizz Air have resumed their flights since the beginning of this year. Enditem
