WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Joe Biden will announce in his State of the Union address that the U.S. military will build a temporary port in Gaza for the delivery of additional humanitarian aid to civilians, senior U.S. administration officials said Thursday.

"Tonight in the speech, the President will announce that he's directing the U.S. military to lead an emergency mission to establish a port in the Mediterranean, on the Gaza coast, that can receive large ships carrying food, water, medicine, and temporary shelters," one of the officials said during a call with reporters. OTTAWA -- Six people including four children were killed in a mass shooting inside a townhouse in the suburb of Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, late Wednesday night, local media reported on Thursday.

Calls to 911 started coming in at about 10:50 p.m., directing first responders to Berrigan Drive near Palmadeo Drive, a residential area close to two schools and about 15 kilometres south of Ottawa's downtown core, said CTV News. (Canada-Shooting)

KIEV -- The Ukrainian authorities will start a mandatory evacuation from 57 settlements in the eastern Kharkiv region, regional governor Oleg Synegubov announced on Thursday.

SAN FRANCISCO -- A tire fell off a United Airlines flight departing from U.S. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Osaka, Japan on Thursday morning.
