GAZA -- The death toll of Palestinians from the ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 30,878, the Gaza-based Health Ministry said Friday.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli military killed 78 people and wounded about 104 others, the ministry said in a press statement, adding that out of the over 30,000 casualties, about 72 percent were women and children. (Gaza-Israel-Conflict)

BEIRUT -- Over 614 million women and girls live in conflict-affected places worldwide, a number that has increased by 50 percent since 2017, said the United Nations system in Lebanon in a statement on Friday.

"From the Middle East to Haiti, Sudan, Myanmar, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and elsewhere, women pay the biggest price for conflicts that are not of their making. ISTANBUL -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Friday that Türkiye offers to facilitate a peace summit that would include Russia to solve the current Ukraine crisis.

ADEN, Yemen -- Yemen's Houthi group launched a missile attack on a commercial ship in the Gulf of Aden on Friday, continuing their escalation of tension in the region, said a pro-government Coast Guard official.

The official, who asked to remain anonymous, said a Singapore-flagged cargo ship, PROPEL FORTUNE, was targeted by missile fire while sailing about 50 nautical miles off the coast of Aden. (Houthis-Red Sea-Attacks) Enditem
