SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group on Saturday claimed responsibility for two attacks against a Singapore-flagged commercial vessel, which the group claimed was American-owned, and several U.S. Navy warships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

ADDIS ABABA -- Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat has called for the cessation of hostilities in Sudan during the holy month of Ramadan.

ZARANJ, Afghanistan -- Seven travellers have been killed and three others sustained injury after a vehicle turned turtle in west Afghanistan's Nimroz province, provincial traffic police official Abidullah Mirwais said Saturday.
The road accident took place on Friday night on a road linking Dilaram district with the provincial capital Zaranj city, killing four men, two women and a child on the spot while injuring three others including a child, the official said. (Afghanistan-Road Accident)

JAKARTA -- At least 10 people were killed and 10 others went missing as floods and landslides hit the Indonesian regency of Pesisir Selatan in the province of West Sumatra, according to the local management agency on Saturday.
