SANAA -- Warplanes of the United States and Britain conducted nine airstrikes on Monday against Houthi military targets in Yemen's Hodeidah province on the Red Sea, local residents and Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.
Four airstrikes hit the area of Ras Issa in the northwestern district of al-Salif, three airstrikes hit in al-Arj area of the eastern district of Bajil, and two airstrikes hit in al-Taif area in the southern district of Durayhimi. (Yemen-Houthi-Coalition)

JOHANNESBURG -- South Africa is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures expected to rise as high as 40 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) said on Monday.
A heatwave warning has been issued for several provinces, including the Northern Cape, the Eastern Cape, North West, Gauteng, Free State and Limpopo provinces. In some areas of the Northern Cape, temperatures are expected to peak at 42 degrees Celsius between Tuesday and Wednesday, said SAWS forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela. (South Africa-Weather-Heat Wave)

ABUJA -- An outbreak of Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) in Nigeria's northern state of Yobe has killed at least 22 people since December 2023, local health authorities said on Monday.
A total of 636 confirmed cases of the disease have been recorded across six local government areas of the state in the current outbreak, Haruna Umar, a disease surveillance officer and notification officer in Yobe, told reporters Monday morning in the state capital of Damaturu. WASHINGTON -- Peter Navarro, once an economic adviser to former President Donald Trump, has been instructed to appear at a Miami prison on March 19 after being sentenced to four months in prison for hindering the investigation of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to court papers released Sunday.
