KABUL, March 12 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan caretaker government's national procurement commission has endorsed 142 projects worth 40 billion Afghani (about 565 million U.S. dollars), the acting deputy prime minister for economic affairs said in a statement on Monday.

The projects will be implemented in the sectors of healthcare, electricity, transportation, agriculture, telecommunication, infrastructure, potable water, and related services in the capital Kabul and all 33 provinces of the country, the statement said.

The purpose of the endorsed projects was to utilize domestic products, promote balanced provincial development and meet citizens' needs, the statement said.

Since assuming power in August 2021 in the wake of the withdrawal of U.S.-led troops from Afghanistan, the Afghan caretaker government has implemented hundreds of public utility projects in the capital Kabul and provinces from its domestic budget. Enditem
