NAIROBI, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Kenya has begun rolling out incentives for foreign investors who set up establishments in industrial parks, an official said on Tuesday.

Juma Mukhwana, principal secretary for the State Department of Industry in the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, told a trade forum in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi that international investors will receive tax benefits, along with access to free land and industrial sheds, to facilitate the production of goods for both domestic and foreign markets.

"Raw materials used in the industrial parks will also be imported duty-free," Mukhwana said during the Propak East Africa 2024, East Africa's premier trade show and conference for packaging.

He said industrial parks will also offer low-cost electricity to manufacturers. He added that the construction of 18 county aggregation and industrial parks is underway across the country, and these facilities are expected to enable value addition of locally available raw materials. Enditem
