MEXICO CITY, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon netted a hat-trick as Mexico's Pachuca advanced to the last eight of the CONCACAF Champions Cup on Tuesday with a 6-0 home win over Philadelphia.

Rondon struck in the seventh minute before adding goals either side of halftime in the second leg of the round-of-16 clash at Estadio Hidalgo.

Nelson Deossa, Oussama Idrissi and Alan Bautista also scored second-half goals as Pachuca set up a quarterfinal duel against the winner of the match between Herediano of Costa Rica and Suriname's Robinhood. The latter won the first leg 2-0 in Costa Rica.

"This result reminds us what we are capable of," Pachuca manager Guillermo Almada said. "We have a very young team and when we play like we did today we are very difficult for any opponent."

Other teams to progress to the quarterfinals on Tuesday were Tigres UANL, who completed a 4-1 aggregate win over Orlando City, and Columbus Crew, who prevailed 2-1 over Houston Dynamo.

The winner of the final on June 2 will earn a berth in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, to be played in the United States. Enditem
