KAMPALA, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's top player Steven Chandiga has promised to play his heart out at the upcoming Joy Cup World Heyball Masters Grand Finals in China.

"After getting exposure playing in China last year, I am more than determined and well-prepared to put up a good show against the best players in the world," Chandiga told Xinhua.

Heyball is a Chinese variant of standard American eight-ball pool, with pocket openings and cushions similar to those used in snooker. The 2024 Grand Finals will take place in north China's Hebei Province from March 16 to April 3.

Chandiga made it clear that the various tournaments that he has played in since last year have helped him gain more exposure to different modes of play.

"I am feeling in good shape and should be able to cause some big upsets," added Chandiga.

Chandiga managed to go through the qualification stage before falling in the first round of last year's event, where China's Zheng Yubo emerged as the champion after defeating Tang Chunxiao. Enditem
