WASHINGTON -- Two people were killed and five others wounded in a shooting in Washington, D.C., on early Sunday morning, local police has confirmed.

The shooting was reported at around 3 a.m. (0700 GMT) near the Kennedy Recreation Center, local media quoted the Metropolitan Police Department as saying, adding that the police have been searching for a suspect. (U.S.-Shooting-Casualties)

AMMAN -- King Abdullah II of Jordan and visiting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Sunday cautioned against the risk of an Israeli attack on Gaza's Rafah.

MASERU -- For the past 30 years, Lesotho and China have enjoyed a very healthy and productive relationship, Letsie III, the King of Lesotho has said, and he hopes the relationship continue to strengthen and grow stronger as time progresses.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic ties between China and Lesotho. KANDAHAR -- At least 21 commuters were killed and 11 others injured in a road accident in south Afghanistan's Helmand province on Sunday, spokesman for provincial government Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Riaz said.

The deadly accident took place on a road in Gereshk district early Sunday morning when a Herat-bound passenger bus collided with a tanker and a motorbike. The bus overturned and caught fire, leaving 21 dead on the spot, the official said, adding the reason for the crash could be reckless driving. (Afghanistan-Road Accident-Casualties) Enditem
