GAZA -- The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 31,645 with 73,676 others wounded, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said in a press statement Sunday.

Israeli army killed 92 Palestinians and wounded 130 others during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 31,645 and injuries to 73,676, according to the ministry. (Palestine-Israel-Death Toll)

CAIRO -- The European Union (EU) agreed on Sunday to provide a financial package of approximately 7.4 billion euros (8.06 billion U.S. dollars) to bolster the Egyptian economy, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said.

Sisi made the remarks during a press conference jointly held with visiting European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and other senior officials from the bloc, during which he announced that Egypt and the EU signed a joint political declaration to "embark on a collaborative path" toward upgrading their bilateral relations to the "strategic and comprehensive partnership level." AMMAN -- King Abdullah II of Jordan and visiting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Sunday cautioned against the risk of an Israeli attack on Gaza's Rafah.

RAMALLAH -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday that preventing Israeli forces from invading Gaza's southern city of Rafah is an urgent priority.

"The urgent matter and priority for us is to prevent Israeli forces from invading Rafah, to which more than 1.5 million Palestinians have been displaced, which will cause a humanitarian catastrophe," said Abbas during his meeting with Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Vieira in the West Bank city of Ramallah, according to Palestinian News Agency WAFA.
