ACCRA, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah put up an inspiring performance at the 13th African Games in the Ghanaian capital of Accra late Tuesday to defend her African Games women's high jump gold title.

Yeboah, 22, who first won the high jump gold during the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco, delighted the home crowd with her jumps, clearing 1.90 meters to retain her gold title.

The Ghanaian high jumper, also a student at the University of Cape Coast, thus surpassed her previous record of 1.84 meters.

Picking up the silver medal was Fatoumata Balley of the Republic of Guinea, who jumped 1.81 meters, with the bronze falling to Algerian Darina Hadil Rezik with a jump of 1.78 meters. Enditem
