ANKARA -- The Turkish National Intelligence Organization has killed a senior member of the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in a cross-border operation in northern Syria, the state-run TRT broadcaster reported Friday.

The organization "neutralized" Halil Tekin in the Qamisli region, anonymous security officials told the TRT, without specifying the time frame of the operation. (Türkiye-Syria-Senior YPG Member)

JERUSALEM -- A Palestinian militant opened fire Friday morning on an Israeli vehicle in the West Bank, sparking an hours-long gunfight that ended with the Palestinian being killed by an Israeli helicopter strike, according to military and medical sources.

The Palestinian fired at a minibus near the Dolev Jewish settlement in the early morning hours, said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), noting that subsequently the Israeli troops began a pursuit of the Palestinian assailant, during which they came under fire several times throughout the morning. MOSCOW -- The Russian military has carried out 49 retaliatory strikes with high-precision weapons from March 16-22 in response to Ukrainian attacks, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday.

ABUJA -- At least 21 people were recently killed when a group of suspected gunmen attacked a village in north-central Nigeria's Niger State, local media reported Friday.

The gunmen, who attacked the Madaka village in the Rafi local government area of Niger Thursday afternoon, shot indiscriminately at residents while burning down about 50 houses and shops, and many cars and motorcycles during the carnage, Premium Times, a local online newspaper, reported.
