Kyrgyzstan tightens security measures after Moscow terror attack

BISHKEK, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Security measures will be strengthened in shopping centers in the Kyrgyz capital here after the terrorist attack in Moscow, the press service of the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported Monday.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Nurbek Abdiev on Sunday held a meeting with owners and administrators of shopping centers and entertainment complexes, as well as representatives of private security companies, the report said.

During the meeting, the deputy minister called on them to tighten security, install alarm systems, carefully select and check security personnel, and inspect places to detect explosive devices or suspicious objects in a timely manner.

They also discussed measures to prevent crimes using weapons in crowded places. Abdiev mentioned the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Moscow on Friday, which left at least 137 people dead.

At the end of the meeting, the official called on everyone to be vigilant and work together to ensure the safety of citizens. Enditem
