VIENTIANE, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has launched a project to improve rural residents' livelihood and enhance the resilience of villages most vulnerable to poverty, climate change and malnutrition.

The project is funded with 45 million U.S. dollars by the World Bank's International Development Association, Lao National Radio reported on Wednesday.

The project targets 450 rural villages to help 216,000 people improve their income generating activities and family nutrition.

In addition, the project will help improve infrastructure, such as ensuring access roads and drinking water in remote villages, while emphasizing disaster and climate-resilient building standards. Enditem
