Bangladesh's net FDI inflows down 9.81 pct from July to January

DHAKA, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Net foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Bangladesh during July-January period of 2023-24 fiscal year (July 2023-June 2024) fell by 9.81 percent, compared with the same period of the previous 2022-2023 fiscal year, showed the recently published central bank data.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) data showed that in the first seven months of the current 2023-24 fiscal year, net FDI inflows were recorded at 901 million U.S. dollars against 999 million dollars in the same period a year earlier.

According to the BB statistics, gross FDI inflows in the country from July to January this year stood at 2,431 million dollars against 2,806 million dollars in the same period a year earlier. Enditem
