Death toll from landslide in Indonesia's West Java rises to 7

JAKARTA, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from a landslide caused by widespread torrential rain last Sunday in the Indonesian province of West Java has risen to seven with three still missing, an official said on Thursday.

According to Supriono, head of the operation unit of the provincial search and rescue office, rescuers have recovered three bodies on Thursday, two adults and a child, buried in the landslide that hit two villages in the province recently.

The three bodies were taken to a nearby hospital for further identification, while rescuers continued their search for other missing victims.

The landslide destroyed dozens of houses and more than 400 villagers were temporarily accommodated in the village's hall and schools. Enditem
