HANOI -- Vietnam's national index of industrial production advanced 6.18 percent year on year in the first three months of this year, according to the country's General Statistics Office on Friday.

The processing and manufacturing sector, the main driver behind the increase, went up by 6.98 percent. The electricity production and distribution sector expanded by 11.97 percent, and the water supply and waste management sector increased by 4.99 percent, said the agency. NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday, as investors digested the latest economic data and awaited the next inflation report.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 47.29 points, or 0.12 percent, to 39,807.37. The S&P 500 added 5.86 points, or 0.11 percent, to 5,254.35, notching its strongest first quarter in five years. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 20.06 points, or 0.12 percent, to 16,379.46. (US-Equities)

YANGON -- Myanmar earned 695.023 million U.S. dollars from the export of fishery products in over 11 months of the fiscal year 2023-24 through March, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Friday.

The income from the export of fishery products between April 1 last year and March 22 this year decreased compared to 736.675 million dollars earned a year earlier, the ministry's data showed. (Myanmar-Fishery exports)

SEOUL -- South Korean banks' lending rate fell for the third consecutive month in February on expectations for policy rate cuts later this year, central bank data showed Friday.

The weighted average rate for new bank loans dipped 0.19 percentage points from a month earlier to an annualized 4.85 percent in February, continuing to slide since December last year, according to the Bank of Korea. (South Korea-Lending Rate) Enditem
