MOSCOW, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Russia on Friday lashed out against a report by the "Friends of Armenia Network," stating the document seeks to tear Yerevan away from Moscow and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Commenting on the report titled "Deepening EU-Armenia Relations: More Europe in Armenia; More Armenia in Europe," the Foreign Ministry said that it was prepared under the leadership of ex-NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who is famous for escalating the war with Russia.

The ministry noted that "among the authors of the document are exclusively people who think in terms of confrontation, the Cold War and containing Russia," adding that they have already invested much in turning Ukraine into a field of geopolitical confrontation between the West and Russia.

"The idea is to tear Armenia away from Russia and the EAEU," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry added that the European Union perceives Armenia exclusively as a source of resources and profit for Europe.

"Friends of Armenia Network" is a high-level group launched in 2023 by Rasmussen. Emditem
