YANGON -- Yangon Zoological Garden, the oldest zoo in Myanmar, attracts around 1.5 million visitors annually, the state-run media Myanmar Radio and Television reported on Sunday.

CAIRO -- Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Saturday that Egypt is set to receive the inaugural installment of an 8-billion-dollar expanded loan program from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) next week.

Speaking at an industrial zone near Cairo, Madbouly added that Egypt is working on increasing dollar resources by supporting industry and export. (Egypt-Economy)

ADDIS ABABA -- The World Bank said that it has scaled up efforts to boost the resilience of three million Ethiopians living in drought-prone lowlands.

The World Bank, in a statement issued late Friday, said Ethiopians living in climate-affected lowlands of the country will receive new support through a 340-million-U.S. dollars credit from the bank's International Development Association to enhance their livelihoods and climate resilience. DAR ES SALAAM -- The meter gauge railway between Dar es Salaam and Isaka in Tanzania is set for major improvements following newly approved financing from the International Development Association (IDA), a finance institution of the World Bank Group, the global lender said on Friday.

The World Bank said in a statement that the 200 million U.S. dollars in financing for the second phase of the Tanzania Intermodal and Rail Development Project will improve safety, climate resilience and operational efficiency along this railway segment. (Tanzania-World Bank-Development) Enditem
